Luxury hotels, others, appoint sales and marketing leaders

Several hotels—including two in Boston—have appointed sales and marketing leaders in recent weeks. Here are some names to know.

Apiary Hotel Belleview Station

Ksenia Poteraj will be the opening director of sales and marketing of the Apiary Hotel Belleview Station in south Denver.  

Earlier in her career, Poteraj worked in public relations, where she learned about media relations, storytelling and brand communications. She began her hospitality career as a banquet server and steadily advanced into executive leadership through dedication, resilience and a passion for excellence. Poteraj has held leadership roles at the Oxford Hotel, Crawford Hotel at Denver Union Station, Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center, and was dual director of sales and marketing for Hyatt Place Peña Station and Hyatt House Denver Airport. 

InterContinental Boston

The InterContinental Boston appointed Dana Miller director of sales and marketing. Miller began his career in hospitality in 2009 as a regional sales manager at Hilton Worldwide Regional Sales. From there, he joined the InterContinental Boston’s group sales team. Following two years as general manager at the Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis, Mass., where he was responsible for a successful resort repositioning and driving 40 percent food and beverage revenue growth, Miller returned to InterContinental Boston in February, 2020 as the assistant director of group sales. 

Since then, Miller has worked as director of group sales and director of sales, where he generated over $16.5 million in rooms and $15 million in banquet revenue annually and spearheaded InterContinental Boston’s acceptance into American Express Hotel Collection. 

Raffles Boston

Raffles Boston appointed Ellen Ryan regional director of sales and marketing. In addition to her new leadership role at Raffles Boston, Ryan will continue to serve as regional director of sales and marketing for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, overseeing strategy and performance for The Plaza, A Fairmont Managed Hotel in New York, Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park and Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. 

Ryan began her career in the hospitality industry as group sales manager at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Over her 30-year tenure, she has held roles from director of sales and marketing to her most recent and current position as regional director of sales & marketing. 

Rosewood

Rosewood appointed James Tattersall as cluster director of sales and marketing for the soon-to-open Rosewood Calistoga and the Rosewood Sand Hill in Northern California.

Tattersall has more than two decades of experience, including roles at Four Seasons and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Virginia Guesthouse Hotel & Conference Center

The Virginia Guesthouse Hotel & Conference Center, set to open in April, has appointed Rich Keurajian director of sales and marketing.

Keurajian has more than three decades of leadership and sales experience. He has worked at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.; and Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va. 

W Aspen

Chris Sanchez has joined the W Aspen as director of hotel sales. 

Before W Aspen, Sanchez was director of hotel sales and marketing at Origin Hotel Red Rocks, official hotel partner of the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. His career also includes senior leadership roles with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Viceroy Hotels & Resorts.

Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek

Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek has appointed Katherine “Katie” Cosgrove director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Cosgrove was director of sales & marketing at Ashore Resort & Beach Club and as a task force director of sales & marketing for HEI Hotels & Resorts, supporting multiple full-service and resort properties nationwide. She led sales and marketing for a 250-room oceanfront resort with more than 40,000 square feet of meeting space. 

Her career includes leadership roles with Hilton, Marriott, Aramark and Real Hospitality Group, overseeing portfolios ranging from boutique conference centers to multiproperty hotel complexes.
